Keeping Up With the Family
No matter how well you’re doing at work, there are always family responsibilities and other little obligations that crop up from time to time. Getting everything done and keeping your family happy can seem a little overwhelming at times.
If you have children, then you already know that kids can be a little on the crazy side. Between the hours of 6 and 6:30 am, they can get in the way of any work you want to get done. Dinnertime might slip right past you when the kids are hungry. Thankfully, all you have to do is keep your eyes open and you can work diligently through the hours of insanity that are every mom’s life.
For some moms, it’s extra work to handle the girls. Most of the time, the kids are happy to play quietly while the mom gets a couple of things done. If you have a lot of things to get done at once, you might have to take a day off once or twice during the week. But, a couple of days might turn into a week if things continue to pile up.
When you have kids and a job, it can be tough keeping up with the family. But, by taking the time to do it, you will end up with a finished product that is much better than if you didn’t take the time. If you have been stressed out at the office lately and need to take a break, you might want to consider taking the afternoon off. It’s not your last day at work, but you can get it done in the meantime and make it a relaxing day.
If you’re working full-time and taking care of your house and your kids all at the same time, you’ll have to put in the extra effort to make it work. If you have a sick kid, or a kid that is down in the dumps, you can’t expect your work to progress. So, it’s time to adjust. You might have to add a little work to your family schedule.
Older kids might also want their own space. If you have an older kid, he might need time to keep himself occupied. If your older son wants to be taken to school, you can’t just say yes. You have to spend the time and energy putting things into motion. It’s not like you can just wave your hands and say, “Send him to school.”
If you have kids, you know that kids can be a little bit hard

Low Violence Content in Games Perceived as Less Risky to Children

A new study found that children who played video games with higher levels of violence perceived themselves to be more physically threatening and more aggressive than children who played games that contained less violence.

Girls who played violent video games were also more likely to perceive themselves to be physically and sexually threatening.

These findings, published in Psychology of Popular Media Culture, indicate that violent video games may influence the body image and self-perception of a child.

The researchers hypothesize that children who play violent video games are increasingly becoming less satisfied with their social acceptance and are motivated to perform acts of violence themselves.

“These results challenge the assumption that the commercial culture industry is not affecting the social behavior of children,” said lead author Jean Mayerle, Ph.D., associate professor of psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center, who conducts research into children’s media use.

“Our findings demonstrate the importance of addressing the potential consequences of over-exposure to violent media for children.”

Previous research has suggested that children who play video games may experience cognitive or physiological changes as a result of exposure to the violence in games.

Participants in the current study were 63 boys and 66 girls, aged between 7 and 10, who played video games of their choosing from a voluntary list.

The video games played included Doom, a first-person action-adventure game with elements of stealth and exploration, Just Cause 2, a third-person action game with elements of strategy and stealth, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, a open-world action/simulation game in which players must complete missions and out-race, out-shoot and out-climb other players, and the flight simulator video game Wing Commander.

Participants also completed a questionnaire that included questions about their exposure to violent and nonviolent video games and a measure of self-perception.

Surprisingly, violent video games were found to be perceived as less risky by children compared to non-violent video games.

Additionally, girls who played violent video games were
