Lightroom is a nice program, easy to use and pleasant to work with. I didn’t notice any major speed problems with my system and the quality is quite good though it could be improved with some preset organization and the occasional soft cut in the lens distortion. You can use the Lens Profile tab to create a basic profile for each lens used. But if you look closely at some of the free presets I use you will notice that they don’t match perfectly to the lens profile. They also seem to be missing some of the brightness and blue hue adjustments, but it’s far from horrible.

Initially i found the bugs were irritating, but this was fixed in pre 5 update (so you know it’s pretty new). Now i find that the ctrl+a/c/V functions really got slow (sometimes ill take a pic in any mode and it’ll just disappear). So i’d say lightroom master ctrl+a is a known bug. Oddly enough, that’s not even really mentioned anywhere. And as I’m not a bad photographer, the bugs for me are often pretty frustrating. Also the import would do a screen full of color like yellow (ive never seen yellow), import photos and then crash.. But now I consider it every day use and am just going to use it around the house mirroring iPhoto. I’ll get an image and i’ll go to lightroom and my photos will just be there. I did expect it to be super buggy at the beginning of 5.0, but now that it’s slowing down i’m not sure what to do.
