using the potential distribution estimated by climex at the 0.5 resolution, the population persistence of t. japonicus across all of its known and putative hosts was assessed using different climate envelope models for climate change scenarios between the 2020s and the 2080s. the t. japonicus distribution in the 2080s was projected based on the intergovernmental panel on climate change (ipcc) rcp2.6, rcp4.5 and rcp6.0 models. in the 2080s, the global potential distribution of t. japonicus was estimated using three different temperature and moisture envelope models. for all future assessments, the potential distribution for t. japonicus was estimated using climex at three levels of resolution: fine grid (0.1 degree), sub-continental grid (10 degree), and global grid (2.5 degree).
