GRBL is a G-code interpreter for Windows, Linux and MacOSX that will translate your G-code files to G-code that will be printed on a 3D printer. It works with many different types of 3D printers and print beds.

If you already own a 3D printer and have g-code files, GRBL can read them directly. If you don’t have a printer you can still create your own g-code files. Even if you don’t have a 3D printer you can still use GRBL to simulate what your g-code would look like on a printer.

More than a G-code interpreter, GRBL can also be used as a G-code creator. When creating your own g-code files you can create automated moves and cuts. The moves and cuts you create can be performed in a loop over a period of time. So if you are baking something, you can create your own batch recipes to automate the baking process.

All these features come together in a fully featured, easy to use application. Once you have GRBL installed, you can simply start g-code interpretation with the Open Menu, and see how your g-code file would print. If you want to create your own g-code files for your printer, create your own recipes or edit existing ones, that is all done through the menus and dialogs of GRBL.

Berenice is a 3D visualization tool designed specially for electronic printed boards design. It can take design made in Eagle or any other pcb tool and visualise, rotate, zoom, move and pick in nearly real world view. Berenice is open source and free (as in speech) software and can be used in education or company. It can be installed on any Linux platform (Ubuntu, Fedora, Mint, Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu, and Debian).
How to Install?
Please go to Berenice page and click on download link, or click on below link to my personal github repo :

How to Use?
Berenice is easy to use. I would recommend to use it in conjunction with JOS. The user manual is attached with the installation file.
Using Commands?
There are many things that Berenice can do. You can install additional plugins to achieve more things from it. I will explain how to use some of the basic commands which you can use in your design.
– [add] Add a snap
– [annotation] Add annotation and text on your board
– [geometry] Geometry management: drag and drop, move, resize, translate, rotate, scale, edit, delete
– [toolbar] Toolbar manipulation: move, create, hide, open
– [export] Export board as image, csv, pdf
– [tables] Tables management: add, edit, delete, move columns
– [undo] Undo all your changes
– [launch] Launch Berenice from shortcut.
– [close] Close Berenice

What’s New In?

Berenice is a fast and flexible PCB simulator which aims to provide a powerful, portable and free alternative for PCB design on Mac OS X. It features interactive 3D visualization, real world movements, easy to use interfaces and a large list of features. The program supports Eagle, KiCAD, Mentor, Altium and any board generators.

Berenice can also be used to inspect your pcb (like with your microscope, but with better results) and to check your connections.

It runs on Mac OS X 10.4 and up. Berenice requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later, and a working 3D graphics card for full 3D visualization. The Berenice display can be rotated and zoomed in 3D and also moved in real-world view.

Some features of Berenice include:

3D View:

3D view of a board can be setup to include:

All layers visible

Textured walls of holes, vias, etc.

Color coded regions

Z-Axis scale of [-1, 1]

Ground plane of [-1, 1]

Open vias on/off

Highlights of selected objects

Board size for 2 layer boards: 16″x16″, 24″x24″, 32″x32″, 40″x40″, 44″x44″, 48″x48″

Board size for 4+ layer boards: 16″x16″, 24″x24″, 32″x32″, 40″x40″, 44″x44″, 48″x48″

Rotation and Zooming:

Rotation and zooming can be done with a gesture.

It is possible to navigate freely in real-world view in Berenice:

Use the mouse or the secondary and the pinch gestures (two fingers on the trackpad) to move the view and to zoom.

To rotate Berenice, move the mouse cursor to the top-left corner of the window and drag it left/right/down.

Gesture can also be used to rotate Berenice:

Hold down a gesture while touching the board to rotate the view.

Move:

Move the view to any point of the board.

Pan:

Move the view on the board, to the left/right/up/down, in any direction.

Zoom:

Zoom in or out to any degree (zoom all objects at the same time).

Pick/Place:

Put the cursor over an object and drag to move it.

Rotate/Scale:

Rotate or scale (all objects) with a single gesture.

Delete:

Delete a single object, or the whole PCB.
