I didn’t change any other settings, but I tried to generate a license for the same application on another computer, and the generated license was rejected.
On the other hand, I generated a license on an older version of the product and it worked.
Why is that?

If you want to be able to use the license key from the old Autocad to install Autocad 2012, you must:

Install Autocad 2010, not Autocad 2012.
Activate Autocad 2010 instead of Autocad 2012.
Use the license key that was generated for Autocad 2010 to install Autocad 2010.
Activate Autocad 2012.
Generate a license for Autocad 2012.
Activate Autocad 2012.
Install Autocad 2012 and activate it.

This also applies to the reverse. If you have a license for Autocad 2010, it will not activate Autocad 2012. You must also use the key for Autocad 2010.
