Nice review but after upgrading to LR5.2 RC I think performance is better than with LR4. So far I am not sure how the Jpegs are used as previews when you have the smart previews (DNGs) available. But have to say that I am happy with 5.2 RC although I will say bye-bye to LR the day they make it part of CC.

OK, so everyone is complaining about the slowness of the preview search until I provided the sample image. I realize that this can be considered a bug but what I find to be the case is that after upgrading to Lightroom 5.2, I noticed myself switching back to the quick search instead of going to the camera and search images. When using the preview search, there are no options to stop at the images I want. I have to tap on “Photoshop (searching)” and tap the portion of the screen I want the images from. And if I know I want “all images” for a project, then the quick search is not present on the context menu. Very strange.

By default the Artboards window is set to show the content of each image in the current document. However, to see the images in the current document, in the place of the current document show, choose the Artboards window setting.
