2) purge the oem ink from each r3000 cartridge (otherwise the k7 inks clog it)
check for a new cart in any of the r3000 slots (other than the standard adjustment cartridge)
if no new cart, refill the slots with the oem inks as they appear to be empty. the epson panel is not very precise, so one has to take the time to refill the inks. the inks may appear empty, but they are not. also, the cartridges appear empty after refill, but they are not. they need to be purged to air dry completely.
3) adjusting the print attributes on the print tray. attribute j is the printhead. also, under attribute i, change indirect/variable inks to direct inks. this will create a different printhead setting.
4) adjusting the machine using the epson custom menu (menu.epson). if the machine is not turned on, reboot it and the custom menu will appear. the custom menu allows the machine to be adjusted through direct e-mail, printed on the epson display, or through a usb connection. the e-mail is sent on a daily basis, at least 4 times per day, and can be through a window on the epson display or by a usb connection. select option 1 to enter the e-mail or option 2 to use the epson display or option 3 to use the usb connection. you will be given instructions on the options.
the custom dialog is where the results are sent from the epson display (when it is toggled on) and through a usb connection (when it is toggled on). select the send to print link to the right of the send to epson display link. you can select the window option at the bottom or leave it blank and select the option on the epson display.
hi i was wondering if u had a fix for the list of unsufficient ink warnings? cause the 2ink warning doesnt seem to go away and still tells me it requires 3 colour and 2 black ink what can i do to fix it
hi i have the same problem after downloading the adjustment programme for the epson pro printer.. i can look at the adjustments and apply them but i cannot print. if i try print again i get a e98 error code. 🙁
psone of the things i think could be useful to us users, will be if you do a batch print, and make the corrections based on the results. this is where you would give the program your printer’s settings, and it would then give you the results of the print. it could then save the settings to it’s own file (for the next print) and give a print of how it will look. then, if you don’t like the results (or the ink returned is too low), just change the settings and print again. this would give us more confidence in the settings we’re getting.
hi greg. i’m still having the same issue and i’m not sure what your advice would be? i’ve only just had my 20 print with the epson pro 9880. as i try to print, i get the list of unsufficient ink warnings, and with each warning there is a box that says there’s an ink error. i then look at the controls in the printer driver, and they are set to greyed out. i can then click on the settings tab and it gives me a warning that it can’t send to the printer. i also keep getting the message that it can’t be sent to printer. i’ve sent two emails to epson support and they are not responding. so i’m stumped as to what to do next?
