there is an official ms program to do this, and it’s free to use and install. a buddy of mine does this all the time, and he tells me you don’t need a modchip. he’s using a 40gb maxtor, and it takes 30 mins to install, and he’s able to play newer games off it, including all the demos (they’re always free on the net). he’s stuck on mks ps1, so it’s ok for him. i still have some of the old games on my old ps, so i don’t have anything to compare this to, but my ps2 disk shows faster than my older ps. just thought i’d toss this out. stress injection helps, too. |
| 2005-04-07 19:58:15 | hi i was wondering i have a 80 gb maxtor drive model no. 6y080l0 and an hdloader copied from a friend i installed the hd and formatted with no problem ithen stored my resident evil outbreak on to the drive successfully only problem is that it doesn’t boot up i know it is supposed to be played on mode 3 so when i tried that the game never loaded all i got was a black screen any help would be useful and greatly appreciated thank you |
| 2005-03-26 03:16:31 | have been using hd loader since it came out have now switched to hd advance 2.0 with 200gb maxtor easy to install and use with no problems. used maxtor 120gb before. sony designed the new ps2 so we couldn’t use these methods to play our games. see all kind of questions and problems with other brands of hdd’s. if you want to be able to play your games without all of the whining you see here, i have complete sets of maxtor 200gb hdd new with sony ethernet adapter new and hda 2.0 for sale on ebay under seller name gjbon. personally i wouldnt use anything but a maxtor as it has been trouble free, just my 120 got full and i needed more storage btw i was able to load 37 games on it |
