a movie star known as meaghamann (abhishek bachchan) is struggling to get a break in the industry. he is a techie by profession who has taken up a job as a production controller in mumbai. he used to be a film director but he is not getting any projects in his home country and this is having a negative effect on his marriage. he is also prone to alcohol abuse and has a very short temper.
his cousin asha (juhi chawla) is a secretary in mumbai. she is meaghamann’s savior. she is like his mother and both of them live in the same apartment. asha is a level headed woman who is supporting her husband through his medical bills. her husband is a doctor who lives in mumbai. meaghamann and asha have a good relationship but meaghamann is unable to get over his past problems and asha is unable to get over her past experiences.
meaghamann and asha’s only friend is sanjay (srikanth), a film director who is trying to make a comeback with a new film titled, meaghamann movie. sanjay has a crush on asha and he is desperate to get her married to him. sanjay and meaghamann get acquainted to each other and sanjay wants meaghamann to play his character in his new film. the film is completed and it is about a nerdish person who is trying to get a girl. meaghamann also plays the role. but his alcoholism and temper gets him in trouble and he almost fails his role. he meets his childhood friend vijay (bachchan), who is a software engineer working in chennai and his girlfriend is simran (tanushree dutta), who is a fashion designer. both of them are also aware of meaghamann’s temper and his alcoholism and they suggest him to go to a rehab center in chennai.
