if youre reading this and interested in trying super mario 64 online rx, theres a couple of things you need to know about getting started. first, youll need a nintendo 64 and a nintendo 64 emulator to run the game. if you dont have a nintendo 64, you can purchase one from ebay (i think theyre on there right now). you wont need the newest wii, and should have at least one controller laying around since youre going to need a second controller to play offline. if you are coming from an arcade controller, its going to be difficult to get used to the motion controls. if you prefer the gamepad, its probably best to have it in order to get a feel for how the game works. while the controls are highly customizable, its recommended to stay with the default controls so that you can become familiar with the controls. make sure to double check the controls before you head online. second, if you already have a nintendo 64 and arent already a member, youll need to join a nintendo 64 multiplayer server. theres many, including the ones we use (nswand 64), which allow free players to play. once youve joined, just hit play and your game will begin.
the best way to get into the game is to read through the instructions and follow them carefully. some of them may seem confusing and those are the ones that can cause you to fail. if youre following along, youll hopefully be able to avoid this issue. most of the issues are caused by overwriting game variables which cause unintended results. other variables work differently than you might think they should. theres more information in the help section than you might think to give you a better understanding of the game. the controls are highly customizable and with enough practice youll be able to play exactly how you want.
