Hourmark is an audio file based time indicator, it is a single file containing the time at which the file should be played at every hour. A numerical readout indicates which of the 24 possible hours the file is being played. A picture is shown at the hour and on the minutes, 25’s and 50’s as well as on the alarm time. There is a set of alarms for the minutes, quarter hours and half hours (25, 35, 45) and the alarm. The time can be set for the times in which you want the sound played, it can also be set for the hours on the sun with the sun starting at 8 o’clock and going around the sun clockwise. There is a picture of a bird at the half hour and a picture of a geometrical figure at the quarters. At the 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour, 4 hour, 5 hour and 6 hour and at the set alarm time, a rooster will be heard and a picture will be shown. There is a switch to turn the sound off for the hours of the day and on the quarter hours and half hours as well as on the alarm time.

* The number of lines of text to be displayed in the hour and minute. Minimum is 4 lines to be visible.
* The amount of lines to be displayed in the hour and minute minutes. Default is 8 lines. The horizontal lines are spaced as the lines above. The vertical lines are spaced 1.5 times the number of lines above.
* The number of lines to be displayed for the seconds. The default is zero which means only the numbers are displayed.
* The number of lines to be displayed for the day, month, year, and date. Default is 4 lines.
* The amount of days, months, and years to be displayed for the date. Default is 4 lines.
* The number of days in a month. Default is 4.
* The number of years in a century. Default is 100.
* If your sound file is in MP3 format, select it from the “File” pulldown menu.
* If your sound file is not in midi format select it from the “File” pulldown menu. If it is, select “MIDI”.
* If your file is in midi format, select “MIDI” from the “File” pulldown menu.
* Select “Use Clock Type” from the “Play” pulldown menu. This is not the standard play command and is only used when the clip starts playing.
* Select “Playback Mode” from the “Play” pulldown menu. This sets the playback mode to play once a clip is finished playing. “Once” can be a time, number of times, or some set value. “Until Complete” will stop playing the clip once it’s done. “Repeat Until Complete” will keep looping the clip until the playlist is complete. “Repeat Count” will loop the clip the given number of times.
* Select the “Alarm” pulldown menu. This will set the alarm to be played on the set time.
* If the alarm is set, a text message will be displayed on the hour and minute before the alarm is played.

Structure:
There are two main sections to HourMark, the play and control section and the display section. The play section contains all the buttons, controls, and things you would use to play the clock, while the display section is the actual display of the image and sounds. If you run the clock in tray mode, the play and control section will be an extension of the tray.
When HourMark is run, you can access the play section by clicking the hour or the quarter hour indicator. If the alarm time is set, clicking the alarm indicator will run the alarm. Each time the alarm is triggered, the alarm will run and repeat, this can be stopped by clicking the alarm indicator.
Play:
The play section is where all of the controls and buttons that you use to play the clock are found. It contains everything from play/pause, to the sound file and sound volume. The play section also contains an image viewer to control the display of the picture and the playing of the sound file. This is controlled via the options/tools menu.

The play section contains three buttons, each is labeled for the action it is used to perform.
Play or pause:
Toggling the play button cycles through the clock and pauses the sound file. If the alarm is set, the alarm will play along with the clock and the file will continue until it is stopped.
