after flying the airport from all the different approaches, i can say that there is a slight tendency for a bit of a crosswind coming in on the ils, but this is only noticeable when passing over the airport. the approach i would recommend is vfr, which is the way the airport should be flown. i personally fly this as a two seater or if i can get my friend to do it, we each only need a single seater to get around the airport. good visibility is the most important criteria on this approach. the hills in the area are thick and very uniform.
as i mentioned before, i dont really have a preference for flying right/left handed. i tend to land each side of the airport so that when i approach from the other side, i know what the traffic pattern is. the hard ground is a real boon for this airport. also, the runway lengths are correct for the vfr setups, so youll be able to do great vfr approaches if thats your style. there are a lot of different waas approaches to this airport for those that fly the automatic systems. i usually land around the airport from the gps approach which is fine, as you can see its all automated from the beginning.

there are several terminal buildings, a hanger area and perimeter fence structures. the buildings look and feel real, the fences look real and the foliage is placed in a manner that seems to fit the surroundings. latinvfr has also included helicopters on the layout. the one helicopter has no lights, the other a few seem to have some of their own. they are not animated but they add some realism to the airport. lativfr have also placed a couple of the old style u.s army/navy helipads that used to be at the airport.
this is a great scenery package for a very scenic area, it has issues which will hopefully be addressed in the future. – the runway designations and taxiways are in the wrong place. – the tarmac is too dark. – the airside lighting is very poor, and the taxiway markings are only in the airside. – there is no bridge! – no irops. – no sidep (scenery) – no atc tower. – no hills! – nothing in the space available between the runway and the ground. – very little in the space available between the runway and the trees. – for the airside no information, very little. – many names for the same buildings. – no parking areas. – no parking lots. – no stairs. – no information or scenery for the same buildings. – no taxiway signs! – no signs! – no ils. – no pireps! – no ils notr. – no sidewalks. – no runway information and no precision approach path. – sidewalks and runway markings are in the wrong place. – the taxiways are too narrow and they are not connected. – there is no bridge! – no ils. – no pireps. – no air traffic control tower. – no ils notr. – no taxiway signs! – no signs! – no precision approach path.
