i have realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCIe Ethernet PCI Express gigabit controller, and i have a fresh install of win10. The problem is, the BIOS doesn’t recognize the card at all. Windows tries to find drivers for it and after 4 minutes says it’s unsupported, and then it trys again to find drivers with the same result.
Any suggestions?
Thank you very much for your help. I successfully installed the Smart Gesture drivers, the Intel drivers from Windows Update, and ATK Package. I’m also now happily using the USB3.0 port on the laptop. My Win10 built has no touchpad issues, the Windows7 build does. I also have the Realtek audio drivers upgraded from v6.x to v8.0.x. After an upgrade the system sounds stop working. Do you have a fix for this?
Also, my installed RAM is 16GB so not sure why the recommended driver for 32GB is for 2GB–by the way, do I need to uninstall the manufacturer drivers I installed directly from Asus’ site to get the Intel DPM drivers?
Have you ever tried following my suggestions to see if Windows7 can suspend/resume successfully?
-Put default settings for suspend back.
-Put ATA disabled for shutdown and boot up.
-Put ATA Enhanced mode for shutdown and boot up.
-Reboot to Windows7 to ensure ATA Enhanced mode is used for shut down.
-Do not enable enhanced mode for shutdown.
-Do not enable enhanced mode for shutdown.
-Reboot to Windows 7. If Windows 7 fails to shutdown ATA Enhanced mode is already in use for Windows 7, so Windows 7 will resume without problems without going through enhanced mode for suspend/resume.
The Asus driver is new with Windows 10 and links to the Windows 1203 drivers, which should be compatible. I could not find the old link. Links on other websites may not work with the new 1203 Windows
I’m not very familiar with windows but i don’t think this is a driver issue. Have you tried using another USB port? From your description it seems you are running an older version of Windows. If this is the case it might not be the drivers.
In Windows 10, You are going to need to download your device driver. Installing the device driver directly from Asus works but it requires an admin account. If you are not an admin of the computer, you won’t be able to do this. To install the driver, you must download it from Asus.
Upgraded and Windows 10 installed successfully. But a couple of days later, it seemed as if the drivers and device manager was not working. Sometimes, it does not recognize the usb port, and sometimes the usb port does not recognize the device. When I connected the device to another computer, the device manager is able to recognize the device, and install the drivers.
