AutoCAD 2020 23.1 [March-2022]
AutoCAD is used for 3D visualization, 2D drafting and 2D drawing, mechanical drafting, plumbing and piping, lighting design, architectural design, utility design, civil engineering, facility design, architectural animation, architecture and interior design, and electrical and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) design.
The following are the basic commands in AutoCAD that are used most often:
Dn – Draw a new object. Type D to select drawing or drawing tab.
Dr – Draw a line. Type R to select a region or rectilinear segment to draw a line through.
Wn – Draw a new object (located in space).
Wr – Draw a line or arc, such as a spline. Type W to select the line or arc, then drag with the left mouse button.
Cl – Clear objects. Press the N key to add and press the E key to change objects. Type X to select the last object in the drawing.
St – Start editing. Type S to draw a line through an object, S to draw a line between objects, L to label an object, or I to insert an object.
La – Label an object. Type L to select an object, then press the A key and type the text of the label.
Lc – Lock objects. Select an object, then click the LOCK button on the Draw toolbar.
Ru – Undo.
Rv – Redo.
Nc – Copy an object or an area. Select an object, press Ctrl (the C key on most keyboards), then select the destination object or area.
Mv – Move an object or an area. Select an object, press Ctrl and hold the left mouse button down, then drag to the destination object or area.
Mc – Combine.
Oc – Open an object. Select an object, then press Ctrl and click the object on the drawing canvas.
Pe – Pen down. Type P to activate the pen, then click to start drawing. The pen is invisible until a point is specified. The pen can be enabled or disabled on the View toolbar.
Pg – Pen up. Type U to deactivate the pen.
Sc – Select an object or an area. Type C to select an object or to select a segment, corner, or closed region within an object. Type S

What are some examples of powerful distributed computing systems
At some point in time the amount of computation needed to build a massive distributed system seems to me to be so large as to be infeasible. I can only think of a small number of times this has been done in the past.
What were some of the more successful attempts at building the most powerful computing system yet, and what were the hardware and software platforms that were involved?
A:
The earlier giants of computing were massive computing clusters consisting of tens of thousands of computers, connected by a shared backbone. For example:
Fermi. A research project at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the 1940s, which actually existed and was built. It had a capacity of 3,300 megawatts and cost a total of $3.5 million to build. It was decommissioned in 1957. This large-scale computing resource is a good example of the kind of resources available in the early days of computing.
Blue Gene. The successor to Fermi and an example of what could be built today. It was built by IBM (the maker of the PC), it ran their Linux operating system and could, if built today, have a capacity of 20,000 megawatts and cost in the order of \$1 billion. It was decommissioned in 2005.
Today, our large scale systems are much smaller. Large clusters like this, with many thousands of nodes, are only used for (for example) massive computing clusters in astrophysics. Most large computing clusters are much smaller, a few hundred nodes, and are used for huge computations like drug design, simulations of weather, and physics simulations. ClipBox and ClearBox Objects:
Designers can now use ClipBox and ClearBox objects in place of existing AutoCAD entities and vector graphics. In effect, ClipBox and ClearBox act as a virtual box and clear for the CAD objects behind them. The behavior of ClipBox and ClearBox may be customized, including when objects are automatically deleted.
Wizard options:
You can now customize the options for the AutoCAD-based Block Inspector. You can disable the options entirely, re-order them, or choose different font sizes.
Model Viewer improvements:
You can now create a new mesh from imported geometry. This is the best way to import non-conforming geometry, including geometry from XREF files, VFX or DXF files, and Graticules.
Revised Mesh Options:
You can now specify the number of vertices per vertex pair and per face, as well as pick more advanced control of triangles and edges. You can also redraw the outline of any solid or surface mesh.
Manage views:
You can now manage any view in the CUI, whether it is part of a floating view, a view in a space, a view in a space with active and inactive sections, or an active view.
Team co-authoring:
The new co-authoring feature lets you work together with up to 50 co-authors on the same CAD file, including the same section, so that you can easily share your designs and changes, and then make them into a single, combined drawing.
Section-based views:
You can now create section-based views that show multiple views on the same surface at once, including axial, horizontal, and cross-sectional views.
New Raster Design tools:
All-new Raster Design tools let you create high-quality multi-surface color prints directly from AutoCAD. There are tools for Raster Color, Raster Color Swap, Raster Grayscale, and Raster Grayscale Swap.
Enhanced Printing Quality:
The new Offset View option automatically creates views that are offset by the design height, which helps you keep your views from being too close to each other, and ensures that they can be printed correctly.
